Basic rights and liberties

Section 6
Equality
...No one shall, without an acceptable reason, be treated differently from other persons on the ground of sex, age, origin, language, religion, conviction, opinion, health, disability or other reason that concerns his or her person...

Section 7
The right to life, personal liberty and integrity
...Everyone has the right to life, personal liberty, integrity and security...

Section 9
Freedom of movement
Finnish citizens and foreigners legally resident in Finland have the right to freely move within the country and to choose their place of residence.

Section 10
The right to privacy
Everyone's private life, honour and the sanctity of the home are guaranteed. The secrecy of correspondence, telephony and other confidential communications is inviolable.

Section 15
Protection of property
The property of everyone is protected.

Section 19
The right to social security
Those who cannot obtain the means necessary for a life of dignity have the right to receive indispensable subsistence and care.

Section 22
Protection of basic rights and liberties
The public authorities shall guarantee the observance of basic rights and liberties and human rights.

Refuge – protection against violence

Barbwire refuge works round the clock to produce security services for all those who have suffered unlawful violence, been threatened with it or are likely to be in danger of violence again.

We remove, prevent and limit to the minimum the harasser's influence on your life.

Our security unit concentrates on protecting person, property, rights or privacy. We do not produce social services, but when necessary, we cooperate with our own appropriate professional partners in your home town.

We help our clients

  • by providing short and fixed term refuge
  • with arranging security meetings
  • with reporting crimes to the police
  • with applying for a restraining order and supervising it
  • with running errands and by protecting clients while doing it
  • with legal matters through our partners
  • by securing the client's travel to school and work

 

Barbwire has a guarding services licence granted by the Supervision Unit for the Private Security Sector of the Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior.
We always expect a child welfare report to be made when suspecting violence against children or their sexual abuse.
